Judas Iscariot was his own Accuser, Judge, and Executioner. He showed himself no mercy when confronted by the dictates of his own conscience. He was likely tormented by terrible thoughts of guilt and feelings of deep anguish in his heart. And perhaps, out of shame, he lacked the courage to seek out his Creator and Master to plead for forgiveness—and thus find healing for his tormented existence. Feeling utterly alone—hated, perhaps, by the entire world—and finding neither solace nor any way to quell his emotional suffering, he made the decision to carry out his own sentence by taking his own life WITH HIS OWN HAND.

A phrase that resonated in my brain every December and that had a lot of meaning throughout my childhood each time a family member or friend got sick was, nobody dies on Christmas Eve. My mother would repeat it to me, while she caressed my hair when she saw me worried about someone’s health. Then my Spirit would rejoice, my faith strengthened and the hope that everything would be okay was reborn in my heart.

REUNION

I know I have not been writing often and for those who have asked me, why? I want to tell you that I have been working on the edition of my book “El Aguanima de Peten” and at the same time on the process of converting “The King of the Farm” into a book. Both books will be published very soon. But here I share this publication that I wrote one night when I dreamed that my brother-in-law and his little daughter were reunited after a long time of being separated.

THE FOURTH SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS (Part VII)

In the middle of the party, Fred stopped the music and shouted, “It’s time to open the presents. But this time I will not be the first one to give out the gifts I bought. Because we have a mysterious businessman who anonymously sent us many gifts, coincidentally with the number of people in our house. But let me tell you that my heart knows that the mysterious man is called Ebenezer! Uncle Ebenezer, I give you the honor of being the first one to deliver the gifts. And I must add that we have no gift to give you this Christmas because we did not know that you would be here with us, but tomorrow I will personally take your Christmas gift to your office.”
