I have heard many different definitions of the word love. I have read a variety of books that define the word love. I have seen many videos of people who claim to have the precise meaning of the word love. All affirm that their definition is true and then they disprove themselves by making a series of contradictions when speaking or expressing with corporal movements the meaning of the word love. For me, the word love is not defined by concepts, laboratory tests or scientific methods, since love is a feeling that lives with the soul and is always demonstrated in all places where those that I care for are nearby.
We are in May, the fifth month of any given year, and many people have long since left aside all, or almost all their New Year’s resolutions; all of which are established at the beginning of the year in January. It is not relevant to mention that we are living in 2019, since many of us have stopped fulfilling other purposes established in previous years, too.
Each year, by custom or of their own initiative, people reflect on their past and put forth objectives they hope to accomplish in the following months. But as time goes on, they realize that they cannot follow up on any of them and they begin to somehow torment themselves, trying not to give up on their struggle to achieve their New Year’s resolutions. I have been asked, how can I establish a solid foundation to fulfill my New Year’s resolutions?
When I read the story of Fausto (A very original story of a man who tirelessly seeks happiness); I found it SURPRISING that he found that happiness he so longed for, in the service he performed in favor of other people. It was then that I remembered when I was a child I was terrified of growing up and losing the wonderful piece of the world that surrounded me. The company of my parents, the jokes of my brothers, the games with my friends. All the words of tenderness and the loving way with which they spoke to me.
When a person dies a separation of body and spirit occurs. And even though we cannot see them physically, they never separate from our side as they remain in our memories, thoughts and hearts.
In the light of a lantern in twilight! Sitting on a rock, dazed and without a fixed point, I direct my gaze towards the empty environment, wrapped in an inexplicable loneliness Dreaming of going back home!
What an impossible wish! I have asked, whispering into the wind, to allow me a moment more; even if I must steal it from eternity, just to see you again!
In one of the songs that Alejandra Guzman sang, was the phrase: THE WORLD IS THE WAY IT IS! AND I CAN NOT CHANGE IT; to exemplify what her daughter would have to face when she arrived in this world. Or as a warning that: even if she wanted to bring her to live in a perfect world, she could not give it to her! This phrase belongs to a beautifully inspirational person. A phrase that Alejandra Guzmán has embodied in letters and melodies; to turn it into a beautiful song, which expresses feelings of a mother as she waits for her baby.
Making decisions about the education of children is like entering a labyrinth. One where you will always find yourself trapped in the middle of a crossroads of advice and experiences that others want to give you so that you do not make the same mistakes they committed when educating their children. Advice and experiences in which many times we forget everything that we ourselves lived by when we were teenagers and lacked responsibilities.
