We are reaching the end of the year two thousand twenty-three, and in the United States of America, Thanksgiving Day is approaching. Celebration that turns out to be the preamble to the Christmas festivities. But how many of us are happy with the life we have? Or perhaps I should ask: How many of us are preparing to enjoy this time of year with more love, peace, and goodwill throughout the world?

For many people, this year has been very difficult to cope with. For other people, this year has not been so difficult to cope with. For other people, it has simply been a year like other years in the past. For other people, it has been a year of great prosperity. For other people, it has been a terrible year that has forever marked their lives, and for other people, this year has represented the end of their earthly life.

The recent pandemic and the current war have divided opinions, eradicated dreams, collapsed illusions, and deteriorated economic progress. Although they have also promoted the process of personal improvement, the materialization of futuristic ideas, and the dissemination of information on all kinds of topics.

If we analyze the year two thousand and twenty-three a little without comparisons with past years, perhaps we can be surprised to know that in the timeline events are repeated that affect the life of each human being in a very different way, which is why while some people cry depressed by the weight of their own challenges, allowing themselves to be overcome by pain or sadness. Other people laugh in the midst of suffering, unwavering in the face of pain and continuing to fight to conquer their own chimeras.

In the month of October, I was listening to various inspiring speeches that invited or motivated everyone to develop empathy with a feeling of happiness that can be experienced at a given moment and that we can preserve through the vicissitudes of life, learning to be grateful in any circumstance. There is a phrase that stuck in my mind: “Let us be content with the blessings we have.”

As human beings, we can make the mistake of highlighting events that impact our lives in a negative way, affecting our existence. And when I say EXISTENCE, I mean everything that motivates us to live, feel, work, study, and love. In other words, everything we are or want to become depends on not letting events that positively impact our lives go unnoticed or downplaying the importance they deserve, no matter how small those events may be.

I have heard extremely negative comments about the year two thousand twenty-three as well as very positive comments. That means that the opinion of whether the year two thousand twenty-three has been good or bad remains under the criticism and perspective of the observer. So, if we want to have a good end to the year 2023, we should start being content with everything we have. Learning to value all things with the word “BLESSING”, since if we believe that everything, we have is a blessing, we will learn to be grateful no matter the circumstances we are facing and to be able to be happy with the little or much we have, although rivers of tears flow down our faces or our hearts bleed slowly in a world that does not stop. Because it constantly rotates to remain firm on its central axis through loving, believing, and doing good to all others, serving with kindness and charity in order to recover the prosperity, peace, and goodwill that the world needs.
