In the book of Acts of the Apostles, in chapter 17, there is an anecdote or story that Paul tells us about what he preached in Athens and an inscription that strongly calls his attention “TO THE UNKNOWN GOD”. Perhaps we have had the opportunity to read this story before, but perhaps we have not given it the attention it deserves or discovered the importance of that phrase. And probably without realizing it, we have omitted to discover the mystery that it contains, or we have taken advantage of the great invitation that is offered to us to know the “UNKNOWN GOD”.
As we grow, we acquire control and absolute responsibility over our freedom to decide, choose, or make decisions related to everything we do, say, or believe. And often, we face a world full of prohibitions that limit our intellectual development to discovering or creating new things. Being a Latino of Guatemalan origin, I am used to listening to and learning from eloquent sayings or phrases that invite us to follow a parameter already established by the experience of other people but that, in a certain way, create a restricted scope of thought, action, and spiritual, economic, or physical development.

“CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT.” Sometimes people tell us, “Don’t be curious, because curiosity is a bad adviser.” This would be good advice if our desire is to find out or want to know about a matter that does not concern us, such as gossip or unfounded bad news. But curiosity is a naturally positive emotion in humans and is normally linked to discovering, finding out, or solving questions in life; that can result in economic prosperity, intellectual development, the dissolution of diseases, the creation of something novel and new, or the conquest of a chimera to build an entire emporium full of success.
“Be careful what you wish for because it may be granted to you.” Every work begins with a thought. If our thoughts are good, the results of our work will also be good. The focus of our thoughts should always be on prosperity and the positive change of attitudes, customs, or aspirations. Why should we be afraid of the results of our thoughts? Undoubtedly, if we look for the bad, we will receive bad things in return for our thoughts and deeds. But if we diligently and wisely seek to obtain all the good that this world has to offer, we will undeniably build our lives with dignity in all our affective, work, or spiritual relationships.

“Don’t ask for more than you can receive.” We must not underestimate the capacity we have to receive in abundance or to generate wealth through the resources available in the environment where we operate every day. The universe is infinite, and the wealth of the earth is immeasurable for those who learn to manage and care for it. On many occasions, I have heard that each person has what they deserve. But that phrase is misused because we are of divine lineage, and therefore, we deserve to obtain everything we aspire to achieve. But to get everything we want, we must work with dedication and intelligence, learning to believe and trust ourselves.
Now, if we learn to free ourselves from some conceptual limitations, we can open our minds and our hearts to learn that if we want to enjoy the riches of this world in harmony and peace with everything that surrounds us, we undoubtedly need to learn to know “THE UNKNOWN GOD” because He is the source of all power, wealth, peace, and prosperity in the entire universe.
Since we have probably heard of this God but have not met him yet, if we had already met him, we would already be enjoying all those things. We can spend our entire lives attending church and doing good work without knowing him. Because this God will remain unknown until we learn to love and respect him as the creator of all things.

This God can only be known through PRAYER AND FASTING. Only then can we develop absolute FAITH in Him. If we knew Him, we would believe that everything is possible in His name, and we would be able to work healing miracles with POWER AND AUTHORITY. If we believed in everything He did and said, we would be able to govern ourselves in harmony with the universe and everything around us, obtaining, as a result, a state of Peace beyond all understanding and Eternal Joy.
The UNKNOWN GOD can be known through love, charity, service, and obedience. Opening the door of our hearts to allow him to live inside. Letting him be the guide that helps us magnify the potential we have to achieve success in everything we want, as long as it is something good to benefit our lives and the lives of everyone around us.
If we want to get to know THE UNKNOWN GOD, let us not ask the stars for inspiration; let us ask Jehovah of the hosts for wisdom and understanding. Thus, we will learn to discover the mysteries and great treasures that exist on this earth.

Act 17: 23 – 25,23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshiped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
