THE LARK OF THE EAST. (Part XII)

After hearing what Lark said, Manuel stood up, grabbed his hat, and left the house. Hilda approached Lark and hugged her asking, “What does Saul say about your pregnancy?”

With her voice shaking from the nervousness she felt, Lark answered slowly, “He’s happy, he wants us to get married, he wants to rent a house, he wants us to move to live near his parents. I don’t agree with the house he wants to rent, because it’s very close to the Sombrerón’s house and I don’t like that place.”

LA ALONDRA DE ORIENTE. (Parte XII)

Después de escuchar lo que Alondra dijo, Manuel se puso de pie, agarro su sombrero y se fue de la casa.  Hilda se aproximó hacia Alondra y la abrazo preguntándole, “¿Que dice Saul acerca de tu embarazo?”

Con la voz temblando por el nerviosismo que sentía, Alondra respondió pausadamente, “Esta feliz, quiere que nos casemos, quiere rentar una casa, quiere que nos vallamos a vivir cerca de sus padres. Yo no estoy de acuerdo con la casa que quiere rentar, porque está muy cerca de la casa del Sombrerón y ese lugar no me gusta.”

LA NIÑA DE MIS OJOS (Parte VI)

A partir de entonces la actitud de mis hijas cambio totalmente, casi siempre estaban de mal humor, con rebeldía comenzaron a contestarme mal cada vez que trataba de corregirlas, rechazaban la comida y se quejaban por todo.  El comportamiento de ellas hacia mi novia se volvió despectivo e irrespetuoso. Cuando se portaban mal corrían a esconderse a sus cuartos y si yo las seguía mi pequeña traviesa se interponía desafiante bloqueándome el paso, parándose en medio del pasillo.

THE GIRL IN MY EYES (Part VI)

From then on, my daughters’ attitude changed completely, they were almost always in a bad mood and rebellious. They started to answer back with sass every time I scolded them, they rejected the food I was making for them and they also began to complain about everything. Their behavior towards my girlfriend became derogatory and disrespectful. Every time they misbehaved, they ran into their bedrooms and hid and if I followed them, my little naughty girl would get in the way and blocked me, by standing in the middle of the hallway.
